Learning to Knit

During the COVID lockdowns in 2020, I picked up a new hobby – KNITTING. I picked up some knitting needles and yarn from my local Michaels store and watched some of the many (thousands, really) knitting tutorial videos on YouTube.

Starting with scarfs and hats, I’m now knitting sweaters and designing a shawl pattern myself! Admittedly, it is a work in progress.

As I soon found out, the knitting community is huge.  I’ve been down the rabbit hole of YouTube tutorials and podcasts, Ravelry.com patters, and local yarn stores and indie dyers.

Now I’m getting knitting stitch dictionary pattern books from the local library and looking at complicated lace stitch patterns.

More to come!
